Do you ever get the urge to bust out a move in the middle of a lecture? Or how about during a quiet movie? In a bathroom stall? On the bus? In front of complete strangers? Well, I'm here to confess that I like to dance in strange places. I believe that we should live our lives to the fullest each day, and that means appreciating the simple things, throwing our fears out the window and staying true to our souls. Here is a place where I will share little tidbits, health and wellness tips, stories, and quotes that make my life meaningful. Afterall, when we grow old, it's not the superficial, material things that bring us happiness. Rather, it's deep, rich relationships, good health and intense passions that fulfill our ultimate PURPOSE. - Nikki Zajac

I Dance In Strange Places

Far too often we are not operating at our full capacity.  We are constantly getting dragged down, sucked out, and tired, ultimately causing us to live a sub par life.  The good news is that we have a CHOICE. As you’ve probably heard, your outside world is a direct reflection of what’s going on inside you.  It all starts with your thoughts.  What kind of thoughts are going through your head? Are you living a sub-conscious life, letting your mind think endlessly with no purpose? See, automatically our minds will be drawn to fear-based thoughts and we end up actually believing every thought to be true.  This is a false perception.  Our egos are constantly making up fearful lies. ”I’m not smart enough, She thinks I’m dumb, I look desperate….etc.” The more we fall trap to this type thinking, we actually start believing in the dialogue that is being creating in our subconscious mind.
Take a snapshot of your life today.  This is your starting point.  What you see is what you’ve been attracting into your life by the thoughts you’ve been thinking.  Now that you’ve acknowledged the picture of your life, you can start controlling the thoughts that are going through your head from this point on.  It all starts with awareness.  Start becoming aware of the thoughts you’ve been thinking thus far. Are they optimistic, positive and action-driven? Or do they fall into the pessimistic, negative, or low-motivation category. It’s time to make a change that will affect you and your surrounding world. Start actively thinking positive thoughts.  Who do you want to be? What do you want to accomplish in this world? How do you want to be perceived by others? What kind of people do you want in your inner circle?
An excellent way to start creating your best version of YOU is by writing.  Grab a journal and every morning when you wake up, write how you want your day, week, or month to unfold. Write down anything that comes to mind.  Write what you’re grateful for. Write down all the characteristics of the person you want to become. (etc.)
Another way to soak some loving thoughts in your life is to read. There are some amazing books out there on the power of the mind.  The best book to start out with is “As a Man Thinketh” by James Allen.  He is one of the thought-leaders on the power of the mind.  Better yet, there are some free online resources at your fingertips that can fuel you.  My new favourite website is called “The Daily Love.”  It was created by Mastin Kipp, who wanted to share daily tidbits of wisdom he’s gained from the world.  Along with his daily posts, there are guest authors that contribute uplifting articles on various life topics.  Check out www.thedailylove.com for your daily dose of positivity.
Enjoy!
